Estimate using 2025/26 England & Northern Ireland rates: allowance £12,570 (tapered above £100,000), 20% to £50,270, 40% to £125,140, 45% above. Employee NI 8% then 2%. Scotland has different bands. Excludes student loan and other deductions.
How this is calculated
Pension is deducted first, then income tax is applied band by band to what remains above the personal allowance, and National Insurance is charged on gross pay. Tax here: £4,136.00 basic + £0.00 higher + £0.00 additional = £4,136.00.
These calculators use 2025/26 UK rates for England and Northern Ireland and are provided for guidance only. They are not tax, legal or financial advice — check figures against HMRC guidance or your accountant before acting on them. Scotland operates different income tax bands.
How it works

About The Take-Home Pay Calculator

Pension is deducted first, as a net pay arrangement. Income tax is then applied band by band to what remains above the personal allowance, and employee National Insurance is charged on gross pay.

The calculator uses 2025/26 rates for England and Northern Ireland: a £12,570 personal allowance that tapers away above £100,000, 20% to £50,270, 40% to £125,140 and 45% above. Employee NI is 8% between £12,570 and £50,270, then 2%.

Scotland sets its own income tax bands, so results for Scottish taxpayers will differ. Student loans and other deductions are not included.
