Notice Period Calculator
Statutory minimum notice an employer must give, based on continuous service.
How this is calculated
About The Notice Period Calculator
UK law sets a minimum notice period based on continuous service: none under one month, one week from one month to under two years, then one week for each complete year of service, up to twelve weeks.
An employee with at least a month’s service must give at least one week’s notice. Contracts often set longer notice, and the longer period applies. Statutory notice does not apply where someone is dismissed for gross misconduct.
